【摘要】:Theidentificationofanignitableliquidresidueinsamplesfromafirescenecansupportthefieldinvestigator’opinionregardingtheorigin,fuelload,andincendiarynatureofthefire.4.1.1Theidentificationofanignitableliquidresidueinafirescenedoesnotnecessarilyleadtotheconclusionthatafirewasincendiaryinnature.Furtherinvestigationmayrevealalegitimatereasonforthepresenceofignitableliquidresidues.4.1.2Duetothevolatilityofignitableliquidsandtovariationsinsamplingtechniques,theabsenceofdetectablequantitiesofignitableliquidresiduesdoesnotnecessarilyleadtotheconclusionthatignitableliquidswerenotpresentatthefirescene.Materialsnormallyfoundinabuilding,uponexposuretotheheatofafire,willformpyrolysisandcombustionproducts.Extractedionprofilingandtargetcompoundidentificationtechniquesdescribedhereinmayfacilitatetheidentificationofanignitableliquidintheextractbyreducinginterferencebycomponentsgeneratedasproductsofpyrolysis.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheidentificationofresiduesofignitableliquidsinextractsfromfiredebrissamples.Extractionproceduresaredescribedinthereferenceddocuments.1.2Althoughthistestmethodissuitableforallsamples,itisespeciallyappropriateforextractsthatcontainhighbackgroundlevelsofsubstratematerialsorpyrolysisproducts.Thisguideisalsosuitablefortheidentificationofsinglecompounds,simplemixtures,ornon-petroleumbasedignitableliquids.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
