【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversnormalizedandtemperedcarbonsteelandquenchedandtemperedalloysteelforgingsforpinions,gears,andshafts.1.2Severalgradesofsteelarecoveredasfollows:1.2.1Grade1,ClassA,isnormalizedandtemperedcarbonsteel.1.2.2Grade2,ClassB,Grade3,ClassC,Grade3A,ClassD,Grades4to7,ClassesE,F,G,andH,Grade8,ClassI,andGrade9,ClassJ,areliquidquenchedandtemperedalloysteel.1.3Allgradesandclassesareconsideredweldableunderproperconditions.Weldingtechniqueisoffundamentalimportanceanditispresupposedthatweldingprocedureandinspectionshallbeinaccordancewithapprovedmethodsfortheclassofmaterialused.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
